> promotes ethical and fair economic practices, conscious consume, social responsibility, and sustainable awareness
> show a new, alternative way of economics in our changing world
Ethical Trade & Info Community (ETIC) would like to provide a simple global directory for individuals, traders, artisans, crafters, producers, non-profit organizations and small businesses to link their online shop and join into a community context, focusing on Ethical Trade. By connecting these independent sites together in a directory;
> product search will be made easier for costumers (search for your demand on ETIC, according to name, keywords, location, and choose from wide variety of sites offering ethical products)
> registration to the directory will give opportunity to smaller sites to be noticed easily when one searches for their particular supply
And the biggest challenge and opportunity for All; ‘What does Ethical Trade really mean!?’
We believe that people in the economic cycle (either producer, supplier, trader or costumer) have to define it! In contrary to Fair Trade – which is based on similar ideology in more official hands and hierarchical structure – Ethical Trade is still new and solid – the term is used in different ways by people in various contexts.
